Book review: Dead People’s town

Author: Siddharth Nirwan

In a single word if I have to sum up this story it has to be “terrifying”. I was at the edge of my seat all through this ride, throughout on tenterhooks.

The author is a medical professional and his knowledge is brought through well in the use of apt terminologies which is often lacking in medical-based stories.

The story is based in A hospital in Raisingh Garh. It is about an unauthorized drug trial on terminally ill patients gone terribly wrong. As a result, the victims have turned into ferocious predators with an unquenchable thirst for blood and gore. Everyone they bite turns into a monster and within hours the entire hospital is converted into walking monsters. Those trapped inside due to the enforced digital lockdown are living a nightmare brimming with uncertainty.

The story takes you on journey, where different character arcs intercept. There is a myriad of human emotions playing vital roles in the unfolding of the plot. The suspected conspiracy is yielding terrible results with the tiny town at its vortex.

The novel is unputdownable and the author’s impeccable research shines throughout. The author’s command over language is also impressive and use of vocabulary is apt.

The story ends on a kind of a cliffhanger and I hope the author comes out with a sequel soon. Till then I shall read the other releases by the author!
